Grove Hall is built.

The country house of Thomas Kilby Jones, it is located at the corner of Blue Hill Avenue and Warren Street near today’s 397 Blue Hill Avenue (corner Wash. St., 480 BHAve-Heath). The building is subsequently converted to a summer hotel, a sanitarium, the American Orthopedic Institute in 1848, and the Cullis Consumptives Home in 1864.* The building is destroyed by a fire in July 1898.
